Dear Madison Elementary Staff, Parents, and Students:

It is an honor to introduce Breanne Willms as the next principal at Madison Elementary School.  Mrs. Willms is a current special education dean with the district and prior to this role, she was a special education teacher at Wilson, and a former student of Madison Elementary. She also served Milwaukee Public Schools as a teacher for several years.

The interview panel made up of other principals in the district, parents, teachers, staff members, district leaders, and School Board members selected Mrs. Willms from a strong applicant pool.  The final decision was difficult with the final two candidates each interviewed three times.

What stood out during the interviews was Mrs. Willms's deep understanding of effective instruction and her commitment to supporting teachers to accomplish their best. The panel members were also impressed with Mrs. Wilms's commitment to holding students to high academic and behavioral expectations while developing a positive and caring school culture where all students can thrive.

Mrs. Willms is a high-energy leader that is both focused and fun.  Please join me in welcoming Breanne Willms as the next principal at Madison Elementary School.

Sincerely,

Dr. Marty Lexmond
Superintendent
